LOS ANGELES April 7, 2000

PREMIER COURT, a world class playing surface, was chosen and installed as the surface for the April 7 - 9, 2000 Davis Cup Match between the U.S. and the Czech Republic at the Great Western Forum in Los Angeles.

PREMIER COURT was selected because it is the only tennis surface that provides a cushioned "soft court" feel with the finest "hard court" playing characteristics, as requested by the US Davis Cup squad and committee.

Todd Martin, long time Davis Cup team member and alternate player for the 2000 team, commented that the surface had plenty of speed and consistency. "Great surface," Martin said.

"It's a great surface, even and consistent. I like it a lot," said Jarred Palmer, US Davis Cup doubles player, following a practice session at the Forum.

The surface is a player favorite because it provides relief from typical stress on the player's bodies through the patented cushioning system. The PREMIER COURT surface is rated as the most cushioned hard court surface in the industry while maintaining typical hard court playing characteristics tennis players expect. Additionally, PREMIER COURT can be textured to provide a faster pace play (professional tournament player level) or a slow to medium paced play (typical recreational/club player level). Players receive the benefits of a cushioned playing surface without compromising the performance standards of their game.

PREMIER COURT can be installed as a permanent or portable surface, indoor or outdoor. The base mat system is free floating and crack proof as it spans existing cracks or expansion joints, eliminating maintenance headaches typical with hard courts.

PREMIER COURT is manufactured and distributed by Baltimore-based Premier Concepts, Inc., through its world-wide network of agents,. The PREMIER COURT at the Great Western Forum was provided by Premier Concepts, Inc. and installed by Fraser-Edwards Company of San Francisco.
